finding letters in objects is hard. Some are easier to find, such as T, I and O. Others, like R, Q and J are rarely occurring and illusive shapes. It takes a clever and creative eye to easily find them, or in my case, quite a bit of time spent looking. It's an odd thing to photograph. One has to disregard a lot of what makes a photo good to be able to use the photos as letters. It feels oddly pragmatic and static for being a creative endeavor.

Once we had all our  letters, we were supposed to use the letters to create a word that describes us. I chose RED. This is a somewhat 'ironic' choice. I find the idea of catagorising oneself silly. Weather that's taking a personality test, or describing myself in one word. It's impossible not to give a false impression of oneself. I've had to take a personality test a couple of different times for a few different classes, and have never gotten even close to the same result, even when taking the same test. The same is true of a word to describe myself. It's either not consistent or its not honest. If I chose some random wishy washy word like 'integrity,' it wouldn't be honest. I have integrity, but that's not an Identity. That's the problem.

As a result, I chose a word that sort of represents maybe something about me. I was wearing a red sweatshirt when I decided to use red as my word. It also represents the fact that I go all the way in on anything I do. Go big or go home. Theirs no point in just going through the motions. You gain nothing from not trying your hardest. I'm not really sure why red makes me think of those values. But it does, so, RED.
